YWP is firming up our school partnerships for the 2012/13 year. Our plans include lower costs, expanded mentoring support, improved Web platform and new professional development opportunities. We are working with a limited number of schools and want to make sure we are working with the schools most interested in our help in integrating digital technology into the classroom.

YWP Schools Project is more than a Web platform. Our service includes ongoing support to teachers throughout the year: formal training sessions, in-school meetings and technical and curriculum support via email, phone and Web conferences. We help teachers gain confidence in using technology of all kinds, help brainstorming curriculum adaptations, offer best practice ideas from other teachers and provide in-class support. Our value is providing teachers continuing support, something “free” software alternatives don’t offer. And YWP has a proven track record helping teachers engage students more deeply.  The details:

The YWP Schools Project -- Information

YWP Schools Project is a comprehensive, cross-curriculum digital writing and teacher mentoring program created by Young Writers Project, a Vermont nonprofit dedicated to helping students improve their writing. Young Writers Project is accepting a limited number of school partnerships in the coming school year and are giving priority to renewing schools. We offer more than a leading-edge software platform: ongoing, yearlong support for teachers. Services offered:

  • Leading edge platform that promotes peer-to-peer learning, student engagement, teacher ease of use and full multi-media integration. No limits on number of teachers, classrooms or students.
  • Full 24/7 technical support.
  • Two in-school training sessions.
  • In-school visits, one-on-ones or in-class assistance; conferences via email, phone or WebEx.
  • Growing library of tips, best-practice curriculum.

Prices: $2,500 for a larger school; $1,500 for a smaller school. However, schools can reduce the fee to $500 by sending two or one, respectively, teachers to YWP's Digital Writing Practicum (3 graduate credits via St. Michael's College.
